Tradition & Experience

With the Esterer Family initially  moving to South Africa in 1994  and successfully running several businesses in the Tourism, Guest House Esterer was founded in 2009  by Bernhard Esterer.

Bernhard is an  accomplished chef de cuisine operating successfully the Montague House in Oudtshoorn, South Africa, well known for superb dining & wining, fine Austrian pastry and excellent homemade ice cream.

 Guest House Esterer is nestled in the heart of Oudtshoorn and within close proximity to a multitude of restaurants, curio and coffee shops.

We offer five stylishly decorated en-suite double bedrooms providing individually remote controlled air-conditioning and private balconies overlooking the historic centre of Oudtshoorn.

A saltwater sparkling swimming pool is situated in a secluded courtyard area and is a welcoming oasis to guests during the scorching hot summer; it is a favorite place for our guests to relax.

Our Montague House Restaurant offers fine cuisine as well as luxury shopping in the Esterer Exotic Leather Boutique. The restaurant offers a full menu and wine list, and is renowned for Austrian cakes and in-house handmade Italian ice-cream.
